Mr Crouch recently acknowledged her contributions to the community in the NSW Parliament, recognising Jenny for her extraordinary energy, generosity and community spirit.
“Jenny is known affectionately throughout the Davistown, Saratoga and Yattalunga community for her tireless volunteering and positive outlook,” Mr Crouch said.
“Whether leading kayaking adventures, creating community gardens, supporting clean-up projects or sharing beautiful sunrise photographs with locals each morning, Jenny's passion for community is second to none.”
Jenny has dedicated countless hours to strengthening the local community through volunteer projects and environmental initiatives, while encouraging others to embrace an active and connected lifestyle.
Aside from her community work, Jenny continues to achieve remarkable success in competitive paddling as a member of the Brisbane Water Paddlers.
Earlier this year, she won three gold medals at the Paddle Australia National Canoe Marathon Championships in Canberra and was selected to represent Australia at the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships.
“Jenny's determination and commitment prove that age is no barrier to achieving great things,” Mr Crouch said.
“She is truly inspiring, and embodies resilience, kindness and community spirit. She is someone who gives so much of herself to others and makes our community a better place.”
Mr Crouch congratulated Jenny on her sporting achievements and volunteer service, and wished her a happy 80th birthday.
"On behalf of the entire community, I congratulate Jenny on her incredible achievements and thank her for everything she has done for the 3 villages community and the Central Coast," Mr Crouch said.
"Her story is one of service, determination and generosity, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our community."
Coast fire fighters commended in Parliament
Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch MP has commended the dedicated firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW stations across the Terrigal electorate, recognising their work keeping the community safe.
Mr Crouch acknowledged the service of firefighters from Kincumber Fire Station 353, Terrigal Fire Station 459 and Saratoga Fire Station 450, highlighting their commitment to emergency response, and educating the community on fire safety.
"The outstanding and highly trained women and men of our Fire and Rescue stations in the Terrigal electorate do a truly outstanding job keeping our community and property safe,” Mr Crouch said.
“At the same time, they proactively provide education to people of all ages about the importance of fire safety especially in the home leading up to the high-risk winter season.”
“I also acknowledge Zone Commander Superintendent Matt Waldon on his truly outstanding leadership, guidance and support of our teams here on the Central Coast.”
Mr Crouch recently had the opportunity to participate in a training day with firefighters from Saratoga 450 at the Fire and Rescue NSW Academy in Orchard Hills, gaining firsthand insight into the extreme demands of the job.
“Experiencing the heat, noise and intensity of a firefighting exercise gave me a deeper appreciation of the skill, training and dedication required to do this job,” Mr Crouch said.
"Our firefighters undergo rigorous training and continually work to maintain the highest standards of preparedness to keep our community safe."
Mr Crouch also praised local firefighters for their strong commitment to community engagement and fire safety initiatives, including smoke alarm awareness campaigns and station open days.
“Saratoga Fire Station recently welcomed hundreds of local residents through its doors during an open day, helping educate the community about fire safety and encouraging the next generation of firefighters,” said Mr Crouch.
“I also commend the brigade's efforts to ensure homes across Saratoga, Davistown and Yattalunga have working smoke alarms, particularly as we head into the cooler months when the risk of house fires increases.”
“I thank every firefighter, both permanent and retained, for their dedication, professionalism and service to the people of the Central Coast.”
Liberals and nationals to reinstate regional seniors travel card
An elected NSW Liberals and Nationals Government will bring back the Regional Seniors Travel Card, providing eligible seniors in regional NSW with a $250 prepaid card for fuel, taxis, and pre-booked train or coach tickets.
Adam Crouch, Member for Terrigal said Chris Minns and Labor cut the Regional Seniors Travel Card in 2023 despite our petition to save it receiving more than 22,000 signatures.
“From 2020 to the axing of the program under the Minns Labor Government, 77,618 seniors across the Terrigal electorate used the card to the value of $7,369,427.”
“This card provided seniors in the Terrigal electorate with vital cost of living support and helped cover the cost of going to the shops, seeing a doctor, catching up with family and friends, and community transport for life-saving cancer treatment.”
“I’ve been calling on the reinstatement of the Regional Seniors Travel Card since it was cut by the Minns-Labor Government, and this will provide enormous support and comfort to thousands of seniors right across our community.”
Leader of the Opposition and NSW Liberal Leader, Kellie Sloane, said the Minns Labor Government has failed when it comes to providing cost-of-living support.
“One of Labor’s first actions when coming to government was to cut cost of living support relied upon by thousands of people across NSW. We know that with the increasing cost of fuel people are increasingly looking at ways to save, and we know that the Regional Seniors Travel Card will provide hip pocket relief,” Ms Sloane said.
Established in 2020 by the former Liberal and Nationals Government, the Regional Seniors Travel Card saw more than 1.3 million people access more affordable transport before the program was axed by Chris Minns and Labor.
