TARRAGAL GLEN RETIREMENT VILLAGE SUPPORT
THE Tarragal Glen Retirement Village Residents’ Committee has been successful in receiving $16,200 through the Federal Labor Government’s Stronger Communities Programme to purchase six Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs).
The six AEDs have been strategically installed in several locations across the village with one also being installed in the village bus.
The AEDs are in-cased in an all-weather cabinet that is easily accessible by the local village residents.
The Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 to community organisations and local governments for infrastructure projects that deliver social benefits for local communities.
Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP said: “I would like to commend the Tarragal Glen Residents’ Committee on its work procuring and installing several Automatic External Defibrillators or AEDs on site to assist residents respond quickly in emergency situations."
Tarragal Glen Retirement Village Residents’ Committee Chairman, Mr Peter Speers said: “As Chairman of the Tarragal Glen Residents Committee, I, together with Committee member Jim Skene, prepared the grant application and have managed the project’s implementation following receipt of the $16,200 grant.
“We also purchased an additional defibrillator from our committee funds. These units provide enhanced access to our 500 residents should cardiac incidents occur."
