The project set to deliver modern education facilities and greater convenience for local parents.
The preschool will be co-located with Umina Beach Public School, creating a seamless pathway from early childhood education into kindergarten and primary schooling.
The shared location is expected to ease daily routines for families with multiple children, simplifying drop-off and pick-up while strengthening community connections between early learning and primary education.
Designed with contemporary standards in mind, the new facility will feature state-of-the-art indoor learning spaces, landscaped outdoor play areas, dedicated staff facilities, a kitchen and child-friendly amenities.
The preschool is scheduled to open in early 2027 and will provide high-quality, play-based programs aimed at supporting children’s social, emotional and academic development.
The Umina project forms part of the NSW Government’s $769M investment to build 100 new public preschools across the state, the largest expansion of public early learning in NSW history.
Once completed, the initiative is expected to benefit more than 9,000 children through increased access to free, high-quality early education within their local communities.
Of the 100 new sites, 49 are located in regional NSW, including the Central Coast, reflecting a focus on areas with the greatest demand and limited existing services.
Local representatives say the project marks a significant step forward for families, ensuring more children have the opportunity to begin their education journey with strong foundations close to home.
