Mr Crouch acknowledged the service of firefighters from Kincumber Fire Station 353, Terrigal Fire Station 459 and Saratoga Fire Station 450, highlighting their commitment to emergency response, and educating the community on fire safety.
"The outstanding and highly trained women and men of our Fire and Rescue stations in the Terrigal electorate do a truly outstanding job keeping our community and property safe,” Mr Crouch said.
“At the same time, they proactively provide education to people of all ages about the importance of fire safety especially in the home leading up to the high-risk winter season.”
“I also acknowledge Zone Commander Superintendent Matt Waldon on his truly outstanding leadership, guidance and support of our teams here on the Central Coast.”
Mr Crouch recently had the opportunity to participate in a training day with firefighters from Saratoga 450 at the Fire and Rescue NSW Academy in Orchard Hills, gaining firsthand insight into the extreme demands of the job.
“Experiencing the heat, noise and intensity of a firefighting exercise gave me a deeper appreciation of the skill, training and dedication required to do this job,” Mr Crouch said.
"Our firefighters undergo rigorous training and continually work to maintain the highest standards of preparedness to keep our community safe."
He also praised local firefighters for their strong commitment to community engagement and fire safety initiatives, including smoke alarm awareness campaigns and station open days.
“Saratoga Fire Station recently welcomed hundreds of local residents through its doors during an open day, helping educate the community about fire safety and encouraging the next generation of firefighters,” said Mr Crouch.
“I also commend the brigade's efforts to ensure homes across Saratoga, Davistown and Yattalunga have working smoke alarms, particularly as we head into the cooler months when the risk of house fires increases.”
“I thank every firefighter, both permanent and retained, for their dedication, professionalism and service to the people of the Central Coast.”
